A Puppet
I thank God for the puppet ministry at our church. The young people work hard to learn the scripts and then minister during our children's church and adult services. The children love watching the puppets minister. If the truth were told, most of the adults love the puppet ministry more than the children. Which is strange when you think about it because if you went to the church this morning you would discover that the puppets are lifeless. They are packed away in a room sitting on some cones. Their cute, but they have no life. It takes a puppeteer to put his/her hand inside the puppet for the puppet to have life. The puppeteer is the one who makes the puppet what it is. Apart from the puppeteer, the puppet has no life.
John 15:5 Jesus says, "I am the vine; you are the branches, whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing". Jesus makes it clear that apart from him, we can do nothing. He is the one who gives us life.
Choose today to allow the life of Jesus to be your life. If we allow Him to speak for us, move for us, interact for us, and control us, the guarantee is that we will bear fruit.
