Helping Someone Up
- Romans 15:1 (NLT)
- Galatians 1:1 (NLT)
- Galatians 5:16 (NLT)
- Galatians 5:17 (NLT)
- Hebrews 12:10 (NLT)
- James 4:11 (NLT)
The believers are the one the Bible calls on to help the ones of us who have fallen into sin, not the unbelievers.
Who are we to stand in judgement and cast stones?
As Christians we are NOT incapable of sinning. Even Peter swore he would never deny Christ, but he got caught up and, perhaps, overconfident.
Sin is a reality in every person's life. (James 3:2)
Paul urges the church to discipline and help in a spiritual and proper way (Galatians 1:1-6)
- lift them up
- love them
- care for them
"My fellow believer fell today, I may fall tomorrow."
Help someone back up that has been surprised by the fall.
Who should help?
- The spiritual
-- The spiritually and morally strong have a responsibility to the spiritually and morally weak. (Romans 15:1)
John 8:3-11
- "Let you who have no sin cast the first stone."
James 4:11-12
- The focus is not on the punishment, but the cure.
How can you help? Just be Jesus.
- Pray (1 John 5:16)
- Confront (Matthew 8:15)
- Produce change (James 5:19-20)
- Help with a gentle spirit
