Salvation is from the Jews?

What is meant by "from the"?

Is Jesus referring to the idea of salvation? Or, is he talking about salvation only pertaining to the Jews because of God's covenant with them? Is there some different kind of salvation/plan for the Samaritan woman (non-Jews)?
