The Gospel Warning

Did you know that the Gospel of Jesus is not only that Jesus paid the price for the sins of God's people? The proclamation of the Gospel has several pieces to it, outlined nicely in this passage:

1.) Jesus was given the Holy Spirit and power to do good and heal the oppressed.
2.) Jesus was hung on the cross.
3.) Jesus rose on the 3rd day.
4.) Jesus appeared to a number of witnesses, who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.
5.) Jesus commanded His disciples to proclaim to all about Him, that He is appointed by God to be the judge of the living and the dead.
6.) All scripture points to Jesus, that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.
7.) Jesus is Lord of all.

The Gospel is really a proclamation to all creation from God about Jesus. He has all authority in heaven and earth, and is going to be the Judge of all creation. It is this fact that causes wicked men to freeze at the thought of their heinous deeds and depraved secrets being exposed and then paying the eternal price for them that makes the rest of the message such Good News.
