Vote Out Parishioners Not Pastors

I've seen and heard too many stories where divisive people work to force a pastor out.

I'm not saying there are not times when it would be necessary to remove a pastor from his leadership position, but if the reasons are not biblical and doctrinal and foundational to faith, maybe the divisive one should be removed and asked to 'find another church' instead of damaging the church and it's testimony through infighting.

People don't like a pastor's preaching style....vote him out! Some don't like his leadership style and changes he's making....vote him out! Others don't like how he prioritizes his family over them.....vote him out! And God forbid the Pastor actually point out sin in one or more of the other so-called leaders.....vote him out!

Because many pastors value the Kingdom more than their own personal comfort, many take the high road and simply go quietly, knowing that fighting it would be fruitless and harmful to the Kingdom.

If you ever find yourself a witness to this wackiness, to someone or even a group of people who insist on causing division and quarreling about "dumb stuff" - warn them once or twice and then have nothing to do with them. But don't stop there...continue to point out their pettiness and encourage other God-fearing believers to join you and do the same. The problem isn't always the pastor....it's often the parishioners, members, attenders. Warn them and then have nothing to do with them. Take away their power, leadership positions and influence and let the "worthless" ones go.
