Present
Christmas is all about the divine present that God gave us in His Son Jesus. Is not about the lights on the tree, but about the light of the world. God gave us a personal, practical and priceless gift. A gift that is permanent.
What does this present mean to us practically?
It means that He is our Wonderful Counselor.
We all need good counsel in our lives, we want to make good decisions, and who better than Jesus to counsel us in our decisions.
1) Do we have the peace of Christ during this season. (Galatians 3:15).
You can only know this for sure if you have a relationship with Him. Jesus wants to give us His peace. This however, does not mean an absence of conflict. The peace of God is something that happens even in the midst of conflict. Never go against the peace of God. At the very least wait and seek counsel.
2) Are we grounded in the Word of Christ? (Galatians 3:16). The Word of God is what's going to help us in making the right decisions. The more familiar we become with the Word of God the easier it becomes to make wise decisions. The easier it becomes to discern the voice of God.
We need to spend less time on Facebook and more time with our face in the Book.
3) Can we bring in the name of Christ? If we can't do something for God's glory, then we need to turn away from it.
God wants us to step into the Christmas story, not just be a spectator. If we have been impacted by the Christmas story then our mission is to share it with others, but not only to share it, but to live it.
How do we live it? We live it by selflessly serving others, specially those that are less fortunate, not only less fortunate financially but less fortunate spiritually.
So go and share the best Christmas present ever!!!!
