Shake off the dust baby!

I remember once at a party a friend of a friend was asking me about "my religion". We were about ten minutes into the conversation when i realized she really wasn't seeking truth, she was seeking an argument. She was making sport and really trying to catch me in some sort of inconsistancy or lie. Lets put it this way...like the Pharisee's who wanted to trap Jesus with something they could arrest him with but Jesus saw through them. Some times when sharing your faith you will realuze the person you are talking with really has no intrest. At that point its best to take a lesson from Jesus and just say...Im not going to answer. Strange huh? I believe my faith is something precious and although you and i are not in the business of judging hearts, we were given the Holy Spirit for discernment. Some times you just gotta shake off the dust from your sandals and move on. Many people today want a "version" of Christianity. They want a special order faith...one they can remove the ingredients they just don't care for...or better yet just cant believe. Well Jesus said..."it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven". Why? Too much to lose. Many people like the idea of Christianity...but they are unwilling to let go of their "stuff" so they try to custom build a faith that THEY can live with. One that is much more accepting of others, more earth friendly...loving ...you know...God just cant be that black and white. Well friend...im long past my bus ride. Remember our passage today. Use discernment when sharing the gospel...stick to the truth no matter what and ask the Lord to give you open hearts to share the good news with...not saying to skip the closed ones...just dont engage in fruitless arguments...move on.
Blessings!
