This Sunday I heard two sermons over the same passage:
Luke 2:8-20.
They focused on two different aspects of the passage.
The first focused on how the shepherds acted on the message given to them by the angel. They didn't sit and wait and ponder. They didn't question. The text says the went, with haste to find the child.
The second focused on who God chose to reveal himself to and reveal the good news of Christ's birth. He could have chosen kings or pharisees or rich to reveal the good news. Instead he chose ordinary working people.
John 3:16 says that God so loved the world(including the high born and the low) he gave his only begotten son, that who ever believes in him shall have everlasting life.
I thank God that he sent his son even for the least of us and I pray for the strength to act without hesitation when I hear his voice.
