Feelings too Great for Words
There's something very striking to me about this verse -- perhaps its just the fact that I feel like identify so closely to what Mary is feeling in this moment -- not so much about just delivering a baby who is the Savior of the world -- but the mystery & potential of this event happening to her. I think sometimes when something exciting happens, whether it be a world event or something local, I tend to hear a lot of "talk" going on. And I feel like I have a tendency to think it through a while -- to reflect on it. Some of the most personal & deepest feelings that I have about God cannot be put into words. I ponder them. I reflect on them. I even feel like thats what today is -- a contemplative Monday. Its hard but I try to imagine how incredibly astonished Mary must have been as this event unfolds in her life. I also can't imagine how must have impacted her faith in God -- being chosen to give birth to the One who would save the world from their sins. Some feelings are too big for words.
