if nothing else...
If Jesus never did anything else for me, if he never answered another prayer again...I would still love Him & commit my life to Him because of what He did for me on the cross at Calvary.
On the cross His death freed me from the law of sin and death. Before I was dead: spiritually/physically...but now through one man, Jesus Christ, I am alive because of the sacrifice that He made for me. While sin entered the world through one man (Adam), grace/peace/life entered the world through one man...JESUS.
And that means that NO MATTER WHAT comes my way, I need to rejoice in my struggles/hurts/fear/pain because I know that the same power that conquered the grave lives in me because of Jesus' gift of the Holy Spirit. Romans 5 reads:
"More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us". (Romans 5:3-5 ESV)
No matter what struggle I am facing, I just need remember the sacrifice that Jesus made on my behalf to save me. He has overcome and because of Him, I too will overcome by the blood if the lamb and the words of my testimony.
So today in the midst of suffering...I choose to praise the God who is sovereign, the God of provision....I choose to praise the One named Jesus.
