Satans tactics

This OT story shows the tactics of Satan in our lives. One device Satan uses is to divide our hearts and turn us toward following counterfeits.
Jeroboam knows that if the people return to the temple, the House of the one, true God, he would lose them. His reign is OVER if they encounter and worship the one true God. So what does he do? He makes calves for them to worship. (Didnt they hear the story of Aaron?) To prenvent them from finding the truth, he gives a counterfeit.
Satan does the same thing. He knows that if we encounter the true God, our allegiance will shift. With that in mind, he also gives counterfeits--money, sex, position, power, entertainment, material pursuits just to name a few.
So what is the remedy? What is the defense?--only a consistent, daily encounter will do. Once you taste the Real God, the counterfeits will not satisfy.
