God's Timing

In my Scripture reading this morning, I read about David and his army being away from their camp and coming back to see that all of their families and belongings had been taken. The army wanted to IMMEDIATELY pursue the people who were responsible, but King David chose to seek God's advise and favor first before ordering his army to pursue the bad guys. Good for King David!

The lesson I learned is that we need to follow King David's example. We must seek God for HIS timing, not ours.

My husband and I have been dealing with this issue a LOT in our marriage. God's timing is always perfect, but it's not always the same as what we think it should be.

For example, we want to have a baby and have wanted it for our entire marriage. Even though it has not happened, God has still blessed us with other people's children to get to watch over for short amounts of time here and there. We MUST seek God for His timing!

We have also wanted to sell the property we bought for a better price, so we started renovating it. Apparently we were not supposed to do that because it wasn't long after that we ended up moving in with my husband's parents to care for them. They have since passed on, but we are still here caring for their property, which means we are not at our house renovating it. Now it is worth less than when we bought it. Also, because of other things, we have not been able to pay the mortgage. Can we say foreclosure? If we would not have renovated the house as much as we have, we might actually be able to sell the darn thing... We MUST seek God for His timing!

Then, when we expected God to show up big when trying to sell my husband's parents' property, we were let down. It was not in His timing for the property to sell when WE thought it should or would... We were and are still a little thrown off by that... BUT--- We MUST seek God for His timing!

Now, my husband has been dealing with a very unusual tremor in his arm and we have been living on $400 a month (plus help from our amazing friends, placed in our lives SOLELY by God) for 5+ months. Even though we thought at first God was not watching out for us because He allowed us to go through that, He has shown up BIG multiple times!

We are still dealing with this issue, but God has ALWAYS seen us through! We have a roof over our head, electricity to power the AC (big time needed right now in OK), running water, and plenty of food to eat. We have had to make some HUGE sacrifices, but those sacrifices have made us a stronger couple and have given us more time to spend with our Creator! We MUST seek God for His timing! Because when we do, HE SHOWS UP!

NEVER second-guess God's timing. It isn't always the same as yours, but it is ALWAYS perfect.
