Permission and Prohibition

In Genesis 2, God made Adam and put him in the garden to work it and to keep it. God made Adam a keeper. A Protector and a steward of his treasured work.

In verses 16 & 17, God have him this command, "you MAY surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."

God says, "Here is your permission. Go after this! Do this! Feel free to pursue this until your heart's content! Go for it. Have fun. Know that you are safe and in my pleasure when you go this direction!"

THEN, and only then, does he say, "but here is what I am prohibiting. It is not for you. I don't like it. I don't want you having any part of it. Its not for you. Keep away from it. Don't go near it."

I always give you vision before I give you boundaries. I give your permission before I give you prohibition. But I am very clear about what you CAN and what you CAN'T do.
