God already knows our thoughts and motives, but He still wants us to talk about them with Him for our benefit. God knew exactly why Jonah was angry, but He also knew it would benefit Jonah to get his anger out in the open and express his anger to God. "But Jonah just left". Sometimes we allow our anger to control our actions, choosing to sulk instead of allow reconciliation and healing to happen. Or we may think that God will be angry with us for being angry- this is not true. God can handle any emotion we have. We can tell him anything. He wants to hear from us.
