Hearts that Hear

It is so interesting to see that God draws us to Him by His love and kindness (His unbelievable creation, His humble birth and entrance to this world, His incredible sacrificial death/resurrection, a constant relationship through the Holy Spirit), NOT through fear and coercion.

While God desires holiness and obedience, he wants it to come through a heart that is passionately in love with Him and out of gratefulness(from the inside>>out) NOT just a legalistic, ritualistic following of rules, NOT obeying out of guilt. Our hearts when they are close to God's heart and thankful for all that he has done will lead our actions into that which is right, good and holy. Our conscience (not just guilt) will guide us into righteous living as we actively stay in God's Word, listen to the Holy Spirit, a and follow Him.

It is important not just to hear the Word with our ears, but to let God's Word impact our hearts. This leads to real heart-felt holiness and a heart-felt love that shines addictively to those around us.
