Day 18: You, God, are Beyond Time

The prophet Hosea quoting God said: "When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son" (Hosea 11:1)

Day 18: You, God, are Beyond Time

I love the eternal nature of God's words. We see this over and over again in the Scriptures. God is speaking words through Hosea that apply to more than one time period and ultimately to His eternal will of grace, mercy, and salvation for anyone who accepts it.

In Hosea 11:1 God is reminding his people Israel that He loved them and rescued them out of slavery in Eqypt. A specific event during a specific time period is referenced here, but God is also pointing forward in time to the coming Messiah who would be his Son, who He would love, and who would come out of Egypt. Jesus would come to lead all people out of slavery to sin and death into the family of God.

Thank you Lord that you are beyond any one time period, you are not restrained by linear time, your words are eternal, you are eternal. Thank you!
