God Knows
When I was attending Bradley many years ago, I tried to call home every week. I knew that if I didn't call my mom then she would be worried or concerned so I called. There were some weeks when I knew that I was way off track either mentally, emotionally or spiritually. On those occasions, I would weigh the consequences of calling home or not calling home. If I call home, she is going to ask questions and then she will be worried about me. If I don't call home, she is going to ask questions and then she will be worried about me. Most of the time I made the choice to call home. I would work hard to sound as though everything was all right. She would somehow know when things weren't right. She would breakthrough my attempt at projecting that everything is well and ask "are you okay". Even when I didn't tell her what may have been on my mind, she would say, "I know you". "I know when there is something wrong". I never knew how she always knew, but I finally concluded that her knowledge of me is much greater than I realize.
In Exodus 3:7, God tells Moses, "I know their sufferings". He wanted Moses to understand that He had an intimate knowledge of all that Israel was enduring. It is an intimate knowledge that is filled with concern. God saw their affliction, but he also knew the impact it was having on them emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. He knows. God is saying today, "I know". I know what you are enduring. I know your suffering. I know your trial. I know your affliction. The obvious question becomes, "If you know then when are you going to do something about it?" For Israel the time had come where God is getting ready to address them and their suffering. For us, I don't know, but God knows.
Choose today to believe that God is intimately aware and concerned about any problems you may be facing because He is intimately concerned about you.
