The Art of Misunderstanding

John 11:35-37 MSG

Now Jesus wept. The Jews said, "Look how deeply he loved him." Others among them said, "Well, if he loved him so much, why didn't he do something to keep him from dying? After all, he opened the eyes of a blind man."

Lazarus was dead. Jesus went to raise him up. He was filled with emotions that any human would face at the moment of grief. Yet, Jesus was being criticized and judged for his actions and non-actions.

We humans have turned misunderstanding into an art form. We rationalize, analyze, criticize, and play arm chair quarterbacks with others motives and actions. We assume we are fully aware and have the God given right to do so.

At any level of leadership, such people exist. Many are waiting in the wings to second guess and interpret ones actions or non actions. First, i want to keep my self from perfecting this art form. Secondly, i do not want to slow down because someone would second guess my motives behind an action. If God is guiding me, confidence i will walk in. Remaining humble and full of faith, knowing God is producing fruit that will remain well after the critics have found a new things to misunderstand.

Father, I want to remain obedient to you. Jesus took time to explain to His disciples, but not to those who were on the sides and carrying offense for Mary and Martha. Help me lnow when to explain and when to move on. AMEN.
