Where Is Jesus Staying?
Scripture - John 1:38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked,"What do you want?" They said, "Rabbi" (which means "Teacher"), "where are you staying?" 39 "Come," he replied, "and you will see." So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.
Observation - John revealed to some of his followers that Jesus was the Messiah, so they immediately started following Jesus. Wanting to know where they were going, they asked, "where are you staying?" He invited them to come and find out... but the question and answer is the not a one time question/invitation but rather the dialogue between every follower of Christ for every day of the Journey with Him.
Application - following Jesus is a lifetime journey. Discovering the steps for "today" is part of the walk. But on a deeper prophetic level, it's important as servants of Christ for us to discover what Jesus is doing today, where He is doing it, and to get involved with it.
Too often we assume we know based on yesterdays journey. We arise, greet the day, and can often experience an entire day without bumping in to Him or being involved with what He is specifically doing. No doubt, months can go by, and we are so engaged in the details of "following Jesus" that we have fail to discern where He is at and what He is (or is not) doing.
Today is the day to discover where Jesus is staying.
