You have planted much but have harvested little. You eat, but you do not become full. You drink, but you are still thirsty. You put on clothes, but you are not warm enough. You earn money, but then you lose it all as if you had a purse full of holes. You expected much, but see it turned out to be little. - Haggai 1:2-6
Ecclesiastes 1:2-8; 12-18
- Human pursuit brings no satisfaction.
Matthew 5:6

- Dissatisfaction and unhappiness is a symptom of the disease that this world is infected with called, sin (unrighteousness).
God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.
How do I learn to be content?
I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to be abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:11-13
1. Learn not to compare yourself to others.
Three misconceptions about satisfaction:
a. I must have what others have to be satisfied.
b. I must be liked by everyone in order to be satisfied.
c. Having more will make me satisfied.
2. Learn to adapt to change.
...I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. - Philippians 4:11-12
3. Learn to trust God.
My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:19
