Pointing Fingers at Mrs. Job
It's really easy to wag a finger in Mrs. Job's direction and say, "tsk, tsk..." at her response to their disaster. However, it's also easy to forget that her 10 children just passed away in one moment. Everything that has happened to Job in Chapter 1 has happened to her. Everything that is now happening to Job she can only watch and empathize with his pain. I can't imagine just what that would do to me. I might be quick to respond as she did, even if it were a temporary feeling of despair... I can't read this Scripture anymore and judge her as I once did. I can't take pot-shots at her anymore...
