Women Have Control Issues
Yep, I am a woman! And at one time in my life, I neither had children or a husband. Did that mean that I was not subject to this punishment of sin? I don't think so! I have a NLT version and the latter part of verse 16 reads, "And though your desire will be for your husband*, he will be your master." At the bottom, the explanation for that asterisk reads, "And though you may desire to control your husband." For me, this verse doesn't have anything to do with having a husband or children... it means that all women struggle with control! Yep, I would say that is about right and totally applies to me! So, women... know that when you try to control a situation that you are just letting sin win and giving the devil a foothold! Also, know that you are not alone. The next time you see the perfect soccer mom or the woman that seems to have it all... know that they are struggling for control just like you do.
