Not just when people are watching...
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:12, 13 ESV)
What does your life look like outside of your church friends? Do you act differently or pretend? What about your thought process, is it in accord with other believers? What about your home life, around your spouse and children? What about when their friends come over?
At all times, we should be living as if Christ is there with us. Our faith is in Him. He is our salvation! If we are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling , and if Christ is our salvation... We should daily, through our own personalities, our own lives, our everyday decisions, work out (exercise) our faith that He is there with us at all times! We should have reverence and awe of who He is, and what He has done for us personally! Christ is our salvation, work that out daily, as each of us should, because we all have the same Spirit that Christ has left for us!
It is God that works in you, both to WILL (desire you to do) and for YOU to WORK for His good pleasure. NOT, that works bring salvation, but that your love of Christ, and YOUR desire would be to do His work that He has purpose for you do!
Lord, Christ Jesus. You are constantly at work in my life. I see You everywhere, I feel your presence, and when i feel a disconnect, I search for you! My prayer is to you Jesus, is that I would continue to see, hear, feel, and know You daily. I want to live my life as if you were beside me always. I know you reside in me, but I pray that my life would reflect my belief. I pray for a unified church, that all believers would start to wake up, for spring to come, for blossoms of insight to start popping up everywhere, and for each of us to live out daily our belief that YOU live in us. I love you lord! I thank you too, you have given everything, and I should also give my all to you too! Not by works that I would boast, but out of desire to do what you created me to do! My life, my whole life is yours to work through! Amen!
