Ministering to the Lord
I think this verse is an awesome picture of the direction of our meetings. Leaders from the church met together for the purpose of ministering to the Lord. They weren't necessarily seeking the Lord for direction. They weren't having a board meeting to discuss the finances. They weren't planning out the next sermon series. They got together to minister to God.
Sometimes we forget that we minister to the Lord. The Creator of the Universe receives something from us. What an unbelievable thought. The worship we offer to God does something in the heart of God that stirs Him to speak and guide his church. But the motivation can't be for us...it's got to be for Him. When we come to God with a simple heart that just wants to love Him, He loves to pour back on us with blessing and direction.
