Preparing Peter

God may have chosen Peter for this specific task because of his background and bias of thing being unclean. Peter was obviously well used by God in the beginning time of the church.
Peter was prepped for this experience by having a vision from God with a moral message attached. Peter did not understand the message (even after it was repeated twice), yet he was able to hear the spirit guide him in his steps that eventually led him to understand that there is no such thing as an unclean person.
