Hard Times and God's Heart
Aren't these two verses amazingly encouraging? When we feel like we are falling into a pit of despair, God's love holds us up. When we are totally depressed - God sends us His "consolations" to cheer us.
This says volumes about God's character. Not only does He care when we are going through hard times - but He intentionally does something in response to the hard times we are going through that actually helps.
We run to food or friends or worse to try to feel better - meanwhile God is there, able to truly console us - if only we'd stop consoling ourselves long enough to let Him!
