Contrasting old and new

Deut 17:7 says that the hands of the witnesses will be the first to put hands on the one to be put to death. Jesus says that anyone without sin in their life will be first. As with the sermon on the mount, Jesus sets at odds the way the Mosaic law was being followed and the way the follower of God should be living.
