Confession
We all can be Pharisees, cant we? So often my mouth says the right things but my heart is far from God.
In a Philip Yancey book I was reading, a woman's quote rocked me. She said,"I loved my Christian lifestyle but i did not love God." At times that is me in a nutshell. I love all my "Christian things"-- church experiences, small groups, Bible study, Christian books, accountability, my Christian radio station, and my ministry opportunities. but in self examination i realize all of those are done with primarily selfish motives.
Do I truly LOVE God? I can no longer pursue Him for what I will get but for who He is.
But as I am sure many of us ask--How do we do this? I think the answer may lie in Isaiah. when Isaiah saw God for who He is, he saw himself clearly, and worshipped God. Perhaps to pursue God for who He is I must see Him for who He is.....
