How to Treat People
S- 1 Timothy 5:1 "Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers."
O- Here Paul is telling Timothy how to treat those around him. He was a relatively young man in the ministry, but one whom God had clearly called and gifted. He is being challenged to look on those younger than him with respect. His elders are also to be treated with the respect due to family members. All of the terms for how to interact with people are familial.
A- There are times I have to correct a man who is older than me. I need to do that not sharply but respectfully as to my own dad. That may not be what comes naturally in some situations, but I owe it to them as my elders.
P- Please God, bring this Scripture to mind when I am working with people and have to correct them.
