Gift of Encouragement
In the NIV, Romans 12:8 says, "if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully."
This verse hit me right when I needed it. I have often wondered what my God given gifts were. At times it was incredibly hard for me to deal with. But through this verse, God showed me that I am the eternal cheerleader. All those times I sent letters to friends so that they would have mail, and know that some one was thinking of them... So... I'm learning to use this gift along with prayer so that I may send letters and encouraging words to those who need it most.
