Lucy was in the habit of telling the truth, but Susan and Peter wanted to believe Edmond because his story seemed more probable.

Balaam wanted to believe his eyes, but his donkey saved his life.

Maybe we should get into the habit of listening to the faithful and believing in the impossible.
