When God is Silent
We have all been frustrated when we were trying to get a hold of our wife, or our kids, on the cell and no one would pick up and respond. There have been times when the cable, or the electricity power went off and it took sometime to get the connection restored.
It can also be agitating when you have placed a call to the one who is responsible in fixing your issue, and you are placed on hold. You wait and wait and wait and more time passes than you have patience for. Then somehow in the wait, you are disconnected; You say, " you have got to be kidding me."
Job has got to be one of the most incredible men of patience that I have ever read about. He is going through the greatest storm of his life, and all he hears in return is friends that think that he has some hidden sin in his life. They come right out and accuse him of their speculation that God is ticked off at him for hiding some secret sin.
We are now in chapter 31, and still no answer, no response, no returned call, nothing from heaven that vindicates him for all his tragedies in life.
It's easy to trust and have confidence in God, when everything is going your way. When the bank account has enough money in it, when the kids are behaving, when the shingles aren't leaking, when the plumbing at the house isn't broken, when the x-rays come back with a good report, when the in-laws are behaving.
Job will go 37 chapters through the greatest nightmare of his life, and he hears nothing that says, "Job its going to be alright." Have you ever been there? Have you ever faced a sorrow, a great lost, a incredible wind of pain that you wonder, Why?
It takes more faith to keep believing, to keep walking, to keep confident in your God, when the sun isn't shinning and smiling on your life.
All he has heard from his wife, "just curse God and die," now I'll give her some slack cause she is hurting greatly with the loss of her kids. All he has heard from his friends are their harsh words of," quit mocking God with your hidden sin." All he has heard from the community is " you have really done something evil to make God mad at you.
Somehow Job continues to keep pressing in-spite of the black night in his life. Friend when things haven't gone your way, all I can say is don't ever quit till God reveals himself to you.
Sooner or later in God's sovereign timing, He will speak, in the end, God always shows up. I can't tell you when, and I can't explain to you why your personal wait. Never, Never Never give up, keep pressing, keep going, keep believing, keep at it friend, you will never regret that you did. Read on and you will see that in Chapter 38 God speaks.
Is it worth the wait? It was for Job, and it will be for you as you press on in the wait.
