if i display supernatural gifts
if i provide for my family and meet every need
if i'm the smartest guy in the room

if i make more money than all of my friends
if i have more faith than all my friends
if i give more to the poor than anyone else
if i sacrifice my own life for someone else
if i do any of these things...if i do all of these things, but if i do them without love, i gain nothing. NOTHING. I GAIN NOTHING.

there is no action that, on its own, is able to redeem itself. only with love do we start to see things change and do we make a difference for ourselves and for others.

love is greater than faith and greater than hope.

may everything we do be done out of the best motive we have at our disposal. and may the author of love fill us up with His love, so that we might fill those around us.
