When Years Feel like Days

Jacob comes to his kinsmen, Laban, and tells him he will work for 7 years for his younger daughter, Rachel. He set the wages because of how valuable Rachel was to him. When men were valiant, it was normal to expect nothing of value without first doing something to show you are worthy of it.

Jacob says "7 years!" Rachel is worth seven years of hard manual labor. I will take my 60-70,000 per year times 7 and says, "She is worth $490,000!

I will bust my butt for her. Then, the bible says, "Because he loved her, the seven years felt like days." I believe that is available for us who continually have the love of God poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Rom 5:8.)

I want to love my wife with such devotion, passion, selflessness - that I would say "because of my love for Amy - serving, sacrificing, doing all that is laborsome - is worth it because serving her for 10 years shall feel like days."

Oh, that love would grow and multiply in my heart for my bride that years would feel like days..
