The job of the farmer in this parable is simply to sow the seed. And that seed is sowed widely, even allowing it to be "wasted" on the bad soil. Many times in life we are called to be that farmer for God. It is our job to sow the seed, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. And we are to spread that seed widely, rather than judge whether or not the soil is ready at times.
Imagine what it would look like if a farmer waited for the soil to tell him when it thought it was ready to receive seeds.
