When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, "Do you want to get well?" (John 5:6 NIV)

Jesus didn't throw a pity party
He didn't care about anything that happened before or how or why it happened . He simply asked DO YOU WANT TO GET WELL?!

Read how this guy responds:
"Sir," the invalid replied, "I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me."

The guy can't see that Jesus is offering healing he sees the past his condition
His brokeness.

But watch Jesus!

"Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk."" (John 5:7, 8 NIV)
"At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
(John 5:7-9 NIV)

Wow.

Jesus wants us to know we don't have to stay the way we are that he offers us redemption. Renewal. Rejuvenation restoration !

You don't have to stay the way you are!
