verses 1-5
These verses are mainly directed towards hypocrites. Which, to be honest, means that these verses are directed towards you and I. we all have succumb to hypocrisy at one point in our life. We, as human beings are so quick to pass judgement on others that we forget to evaluate ourselves. We possess this notion that we are on a pedestal and everyone else is beneath us when that is hardly the case. Because we are human beings and succumb to our sinful nature we are of no stature to judge anyone because we are all on a level playing field. Nobody's sin outweighs another, they are all judged the same. God should and is the only one who can judge because he is perfect in nature. We should not take his kindness and mercy for a weakness because it is nothing such. Nor should we take it for granted.
