I confess that I've gotten so used to the story of Jesus' birth that I forget how strange and amazing it is. Stop and think about it from each of the character's perspectives.

If you were Mary, how would you have responded? You're carrying (literally) an amazing secret and your reputation had been tarnished.

If you were Joseph, would you have believed her? Would it have taken an angel to convince you too?

If you were the shepherds tending your sheep one night, and an angel suddenly appeared, how scared out of your mind would you be?

Don't let the wonder and magic of Christmas escape you this week.
