The Way Things Work
This is God's world, but he gave it's management to us. That means, we've come up with a lot of processes and procedures that seems "right in our own eyes" and seems to be working. One of these is hierarchy. To keep order and be productive, we create positions of authority - otherwise, we'd fall into anarchy, because of our tendency to be selfish.
Well, we are immersed in this life, and miss the way it REALLY is... and that is, everyone is equal in God's eyes. This is his world, after all, and we are all born into it at the same level... and we all leave it at the same level.
This verse is just a reminder that, though the world has people in charge of people, you have to keep your focus outside of the system, because in the grand scheme of things, it won't last. God will.
