Context
When reading anything that is prophetic (speaks of things to come) it is important to remember prophecy has always been about a prophets lifetime. There is not a single instance where a prophecy is delivered in the old or new testiment where that prophecy was supposed to be for 2000 or 4000 years later. This whole concept is indeed quite silly. The Hebrew people had no interest in what would take place thousands of years down the road. So in essence to connect this verse and its surrounding verses to Revelations is just foolish and uneducated.
