What are you running on?

In a day and age of 200 mph production cars and high octane, high performance cars we are bombarded by commercials about more efficient, more powerful cars. We hear of challenges on who can make the first 4 passenger car to run and get 100 mpg. There are new biofuels and renewable energy sources to power these inventions, but what are you running on?

What is fueling your high performance mind, body and soul? Some of us have higher performance in one of those three categories than the others, but it still takes fuel to get it going. The common phrase "knowledge is power" comes to mind. If you know how to work out and eat right we keep our body performing, if we study and continue our education and keep a mindset of open to learn more we keep our minds running good, but what is fueling your soul? What or who even gave you the mind or mindset mentioned to keep going?

Paul points out in 1 Cor 1:22 that to keep them going, to keep their minds sharp, to keep their hopes up the Jews looked for signs and the Greeks, also called Gentiles or non-Jews, looked for wisdom, but Christians looked for Christ, something that made the Jews stumble and the Non-Jews think folly or stupidity.

And even though the Jews and Greeks didn't think to highly of Christ, Paul goes on to confirm that Christ, the Christ, the Messiah, God in the flesh who ushered in the Holy Spirit and now sits on the right hand side of the Father in Heaven, is still the fuel for their lives, "But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men." (1 Corinthians 1:24-25 ESV)

What is fueling you, foolishness or weakness of God? Or the strength and wisdom of men? My challenge to you is to dump the biofuel of your life and rely on the power, knowledge and strength of the almighty and supreme, Jesus Christ. Let him feed your soul and give you the strength and wisdom to fulfill His desire for your life.

A good start would be a daily worship time with God not asking of His help but thanking Him for it. Not asking Him what He can do for you, but asking what He would like from you. And of course reading the Bible and attending a Bible based church to help you grow that relationship. It is not easy, And takes time, you may not be able to stick to it, but I challenge you to. Are you up for it? What is fueling you?
