Even before heading for Galilee, Jesus remarked that He would receive no honor there. In the next verse, we read that He received a warm reception on account of the miracles He performed, but apparently it was a kind of acceptance that Jesus did not highly value. “Familiarity breads contempt” and I imagine the people of Galilee who had known Jesus all His life were more delighted with the curiosity of a performing carpenter, than awed by their Messiah.
