The Power of Prayer
The Holy Spirit was left behind by Jesus to help us complete our assignment (Acts 1:8). And he will teach us all things and lead us to a place of completion of our assignment and destiny. Notice how the Bible states that Jesus was guided into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit. And it was after this experience was where Jesus' ministry officially kicked off. If we look back at other instances of a person or a people of destiny were on their way to fulfilment, they ALL went through a wilderness of some sort! Moses, Joseph, the children of Israel and even Samson went through a wilderness of some sort!
The place of the wilderness forges us for our ministry and it is the actions hat transpire there that either catapults us towards our ministry because we have been tested with fire and have been refined. Or if we do not pass the test can either remain there till we learn our lesson (Jonah) actively deviate(Samson) or even die!(Moses, Israelites)
The combination of Prayer and the Word helps us to focus on Gods instructions and promises when we are being tested so that we may have a testimony. Prayer helps us to commune with our Maker and provides a source or strength when everything is caving in or going up inn flames all around us.
