Looking Like God's Sons and Daughters
God is sovereign and in control, He has created us in His image and gave us a will along with that. So that means we choose whether or not to live a life pleasing unto God. Jesus provided the ultimate example for us by surrendering His will to His father ("Not My will, but Yours, Father!" Jesus made a daily decision even unto death to live out God's plan for His life.
Each day we are left with this same choice. Will we do things are own way or follow the will of our heavenly Father? The word of God says all those who are led by the Spirit of God are God's sons. God has given us His Holy Spirit to lead and guide us into all truth, it's up to us to choose to follow the lead of the Spirit.
As believers, who should want to look like God's sons and daughters we should choose to live within in the will of God (which is safest place we can in!) Our decisions should be made based on the leading of the Holy Spirit. We learn more about what God's will is for us as we build our relationship with Him through prayer, fasting, and spending time in His word.
As we live up to the image of God as His son or daughter by surrendering our will, we will be led into the right choices for our lives as we follow God.
