everydaypreacher.com - Luke 8:14
I just had to post this piece of scripture because I think that everyone can relate to it. I certainly can.
The phrase “choked by worries, riches, and pleasures of life” describes each and every one of us at some point in time. We shove Jesus into a corner, or maybe sometimes out of the house entirely. But hey, we need more room for that big screen TV. There’s no room for another man in your life since your seeing someone besides your husband anyway.
I can easily relate with riches (me needing all the newest tech gadgets) and the pleasures of life (my own personal battle with lust). However I have a hard time understanding worries since I am overall a pretty laid back individual, but I know some people who struggle with this.
In the end though: Jesus took away your reason to worry, He said woe unto the rich (I think this could also be directed at those of us who are poor because we spend too much), and he is the one who promises the ultimate pleasure found in heaven.
