I can tell you that I have experienced this verse first hand. My temperament could be taken as a gauge of how my walk with God is going. When I am on with God, you’re happy to have me as a friend. When I am not feeling it, then you might want to keep your distance.
When I am on with God; I want to tithe, I want to study, I want to go to church. However, when I am not seeing eye to eye with God’s plan for me… well that’s a different story.
I only hope and pray that on the whole, when looking at a monthly or yearly survey, the storeroom of my heart is storing up more and more of the treasures found in being a follower of Christ. Sometimes I feel like my storeroom can’t hold any more, but other times I feel like it has been looted. Dear Lord, fill me up!
