Living Sacrifices

In the OT all the sacrifices were already dead when they were put on the altar...so it is pretty strange that Paul says we need to offer ourselves as "living sacrifices." The problem with being a living sacrifice is two-fold: 1) You can feel the flames from the altar. 2) You can choose to climb down from the altar at any point.
