spiritually bold versus religiously aggressive
Reading this verse, and seeing how Peter ad other believers were bold through the power of the Holy Spirit. And that the religious leaders were aggressive towards any other beliefs, especially ones that subverted their control, seemed to identify a stumbling block for us. Often I think we mistake our aggressiveness for cultural and political agendas in America as spiritual boldness - and I don't think that is the case. The boldness that came from the Holy Spirit was in proclaiming the gospel, not the influence of a political party.
