Did Jesus really just tell these jews they're the devil's kids? You betcha! This completely sounds like a different Jesus than most people try to portray. The soft spoken, blue eyed, white as a sheet , typical Jesus wouldn't tell these jews that they're satan's children. He's far too busy carrying sheep and talking to little children. The real Jesus dared to say things that most of us wouldn't think about saying to someone. Yes, he was loving, and caring, and not afraid to reach out to people, but he was also serious about his ministry, and he meant business. Anyway, read the entire chapter 8... its a great read on the character of Jesus and how he handled conflict with the scribes and pharisees, and the ''jews who had believed in him'' (v.31)
