The Transformation of Peter
"I never loose. I either win or I learn something." I heard this statement several years ago and I was reminded of it when I was studying Peter's faith. In Matthew 14 we see the gung ho Peter literally step out on faith and walk on water. Doubt quickly entered Peter's thinking and he sinks only to have Jesus just as quickly save him. Jesus rebukes him gently and asks him why he doubted. Peter could have looked at this situation and concluded that he failed. But instead, I think he learned. Fast forward to Acts 3 and we see a transformed Peter. He has faith in Jesus and the promise of John 14: 12 and 13. There is not a shred of doubt in Peter when he commands the cripple beggar in the name of Jesus to walk.
My prayer is that I will learn the lessons Peter learned, learn them quickly and bring the Kingdom to the lost and hurting of this world.
